تلعب دور شاب يبحث عن أخته في قرية يابانية نائية، مُحاطة بمعابد مُهدمة، وممرات غارقة، ومسارات مُغطاة بالضباب. ما يبدأ كبحث عائلي بسيط يتحول تدريجيًا إلى كابوس مليء بالتوتر والعنف والاكتشافات المؤلمة.

مستوحاة من رعب البقاء النفسي الياباني، تجمع لعبة الغابة الغارقة بين الاستكشاف والألغاز المُعقدة ومعارك البقاء في ظل موارد محدودة، حيث يتحول الفلكلور الياباني إلى رعب خالص.

بُنيت اللعبة باستخدام محرك Unreal Engine 5، وتدعوك لاستكشاف بيوت مهجورة، وأضرحة غطتها الأعشاب الضارة، وأشجار الكرز الذابلة. يُحيط بك جو خانق، حيث تُردد طبول تايكو المُخيفة ومقطوعات موسيقية وترية مُتوترة عبر الضباب، مُلاحقةً كل خطوة تخطوها.
